ANNOUNCEMENT FROM COACH FREEHLING

Sunday, April 20, 2008

We are excited about the season our kids have had to date. We are extremely proud of our kids for the way they have conducted themselves, for their work ethic, and for the way they have put things together as a team.

We anxiously anticipate the preparation and competition that will take place in the upcoming state baseball playoffs. Our kids are striving to achieve nothing less than their intended goal: A STATE TITLE. We thank all of those who have helped support our kids in their efforts this season.

The team dinners are a huge hit!

In addition, we are also excited to once again provide excellent summer baseball programs for our kids. We will run 4 teams again this summer: Legion A, Legion B, Legion C, and an 8th grade team that will compete at the 9th grade level.

The coaching staff has planned a different looking program for this summer. To begin with, the competition will be much stronger, a must as we transition into 5A next year. We will conduct morning workout sessions and team practices 3 days a week with the goal of skill acquisition as well as player and team development.

There is also great potential for a summer weight program for participating athletes. Specific details of the schedule will be provided very soon. Although there are plenty of choices and options for kids in our area to compete in other baseball camps or leagues during the summer months, we feel strongly that ours is still the best option for kids.

Those choosing to try out for Ralston Valley Summer Baseball Programs should make preparations to attend tryouts:

  • Saturday, May 24, 2008
    • 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Grade 10-11)
    • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Grade 8-9)
  • Tuesday, May 27, 2008
    • 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
    • Holdover tryouts - kids who were unable to attend the Saturday session

Continued success and best of luck Mustangs!
