General Purpose for Being at RVHS
- To get an education, to graduate, and prepare for college or career
- To participate in extracurricular activities

Baseball Coaching Staff Expectations
- Provide positive discipline and ensure proper treatment of athletes on and off the field
- Monitor grades and council students who are having academic difficulty
- Educate baseball players with the best possible baseball fundamentals and skills and help them achieve success in baseball
- Model behavior that is consistent with someone in a position of trust
- Help student athletes enjoy their stay at RVHS as they progress through the program

Player Expectations
- Players take pride in their appearance facial hair
- Hair must be neat and moderately short
- Earrings and other jewelry may not be worn on the baseball field
- Wear proper practice attire: gray baseball pants, blue mustang baseball t-shirt, cleats, long sleeves,
and jacket on cold weather days
- Game uniforms must be clean, pressed, and worn properly
- Respect the game of baseball and wear hats properly
- Players conduct themselves in a commendable manner in school, on the baseball field, and in the community.
You represent yourself, your family, and the baseball program at RVHS.
- Players must observe and follow the Jefferson County League Board of Control "Code of Conduct" as
well as CHSAA guidelines. These include but are not limited to:
- The use or possession of tobacco, drugs, steroids, and alcoholic beverages in any amount are strictly
forbidden. Violation of this training rule in or out of season will result in game suspensions and potentially
expulsion from the team.
- Athletes must observe academic eligibility guidelines and be eligible to play baseball
- Players will treat others with respect:
- Teammates, opponents, coaches, umpires, administrators, and custodial staff
- Players will HUSTLE and give 100% effort in all they do:
- H - hard work and dedication
- U - understand your role
- S - strive for personal growth
- T - be on time
- L - demonstrate leadership
- E - approach every day with enthusiasm

Other Specific Guidelines
- Outward displays of frustration or other break down in discipline involving
temper tantrums or throwing equipment is not permitted
- Trash talk toward teammates, opponents, or umpires will not be tolerated
- No cleats or spikes are to be worn in any part of the building or locker room. You are expected
to treat the building and the custodial staff with the same respect you treat your home and family members.
- There will be absolutely no standing around on grassy area of the baseball field without a purpose.
You will be expected to put on shoes and keep gear in the dugout areas of the field.
- All injuries and sicknesses must be reported to the coaching staff immediately so that proper treatment
can be initiated and injury reports filed.
- Players will exercise common sense and safety procedures to prevent unnecessary injuries to themselves
or others
- Ineligible players are expected to practice with the team unless otherwise instructed. Players who
are ineligible still travel with the team but may not suit up in uniform for games.
- Players are to be on time to all practices, special meetings, and games. If for some reason you will
be late, you must personally talk by phone or in person with one of the coaches prior to the scheduled
time. Repeated tardiness or absences may result in suspension or expulsion from the team. Also, players
must attend a full day of classes to be eligible to participate in practice sessions and games. Family
emergency excused absences are the only exceptions
- Training room treatment must take place before or after practice. Players must receive prior permission
to receive treatment for an injury.
- Players are expected to help maintain the baseball facility. Responsibilities include:
- Pitchers- mound and bullpen
- Catchers- home plate and base lines
- Infielders- broom lip, rake base areas, remove bases, and replace movable cage and screens
- Outfielders- replace tarps and mats, sweep dugouts, clean sheds, and pick up loose trash
